Where Does The Time Go?

These last few weeks of October have flown by and I have neglected to give updates. So here is my best recollection of what has been going on. At the beginning of the 14 days the weather was beautiful and Matt and I took a Saturday to go visit an Apple Orchard and get some Apple Cider, Pumpkin Doughnuts and we were planning to get pumpkins – but they were all picked over. On our way back from the orchard we stopped by a park in the area and spent some time walking the trails and looking at the fall color. This outdoor activity was followed by picking pumpkins at another location and a trip to TJ Maxx where they had winter gear on sale. Matt is determined to get me outdoors this winter – now that I have some “good” warm gear, I might be okay with that.

That weekend was so productive that I was looking forward to a great week of classes and all the many nightly activities I am involved in. However – that was not going to be the case. I started to feel really yucky, it wasn’t really a cold nor the flu, but something in between that kept me sleeping all the time and dragging through the days. The week worth of trying to get extra rest helped and by the past weekend I was feeling almost healthy again.

It was a good thing that I was feeling a bit better because on Saturday night Matt and I had tickets to the home opener for the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team. It was such a good game – high scoring, good popcorn and some intense fights. We even had the opportunity to see Paulette and her husband Lee there. This week should be an even better chance to get back in to the swing of things – let’s just hope that the predicted snow holds off. I am not ready for snow yet!
