The Weather Outside is Frightful

There has been so much snow this winter and it is only the second week of January! I do hope it means that we will be finished with winter at the beginning of March, however I have a feeling that this is going to be a LONG and SNOWY winter. So what is a gal to do, when it is too cold to have fun outside and too snowy to want to go anywhere – how about renovate a bathroom, laundry room and install new countertops in the kitchen. Yup, that is the plan. We have started to work on the bathroom, which has involved putting a skim coat on almost the entire ceiling and many areas of the walls and then putting a few good coats of Kilz primer on to freshen things up. Over the weekend I made it to Home Depot to pick out the ceiling paint and wall color and I hope to get that started some day this week or weekend, then on to installing a new vanity, shower head, shower curtain rod, lighting and flooring. The goal is to have it done before the first week in March – then it is on to the Laundry room and Kitchen. Here are some pictures I took after we started skim coating, although it is not “really” before the start of the project it is close and you can see the bathroom needs lots of help.
