Christmas 2012

This year we kept it low key for Christmas and spent a few days at Gigi and Papa's house in Concord and spent the rest of the time at home.  Lilly loves the attention and toys at Gigi and Papa's house and can always find someone to play with her or pick her up and give her the Tour de Christmas.

The Tour de Christmas starts at the front window where she can see all of the snow in the front yard, followed by some "Oohhhs and Ahhhs" when she notices the lights on the trees across the street, back towards the pile of presents neatly wrapped and overflowing from beneath the tree and finishing up with a long look at each ornaments on the tree.

Lilly's favorite part about the presents this year was that all of the tags we used were pictures of the person who was to receive the gift; that way Lilly could look at the photo and find that person in the room so that she could deliver the gifts when the time came.  Everyone got a chance to relax and let the stress of the previous year melt away like a Christmas M&M in Lilly's hand.  Activities ranged from catching up on the Gold Rush crew to see what the mid-season gold totals were up to, to installing pot lights in an unfinished basement (someone's idea of fun when the other option is Honey Boo-Boo), to having our own Gold Rush with a rousing game of Settlers of Catan.

After Christmas we returned home for a few days of down time before Matt had to go back to work.  He was able to finish up a few projects around the house and start some new ones including helping to install our new efficient fireplace gas insert that promises to make our living room toasty warm this upcoming winter!
