Forty-Two Months

Weight:   29.5 lbs

Height:   38”

Wearing: 3T,  Size 7 Shoe

Motor Milestones: Lilly has taken ownership over her cousin Emma and has even told her GiGi to "Backup, She's Mine."  Every time Emma fusses Lilly runs to her yelling, "It's Ok. Emma. I'm Here."  She also like to show Emma and everyone else how she can hop on one foot while twirling, donkey kick many times in a row and hang from anything like it is a high-bar.  It is pretty disappointing knowing that later this week, we might not be able to run free outside everyday, but I am so happy that the garage is cleaned up, so she can do some indoor trike riding along with her swinging and sliding on the porch.

Language Milestones: Who invented phonics, they are soooo annoying.  At least, I think they are.  But, thank goodness Lillian seems to understand them.  We have been listening to her sing all kinds of songs about Letters saying their names and how controlling R can be.  I feel like I am learning language all over again.  I am sure looking forward to getting to the sight words, I will finally feel at home.  Writing and spelling her name and been coming along really well and for the teacher trained eye, you know what papers belong to Lillian.  On and good and bad note, her teacher mentioned how helpful she is to other kid in her class, by spelling their names ... hint, hint ... We may end up with a Talks Too Much on her progress report this Fall. :)  She has been reading a book that Nana Marge got her a few years ago: Big, small!  Pals all!  Although most of her reading cues are from pictures, she is pretty proud she can read it cover to cover.
