Once there was a house, and she loved a little family

I can't help but remember the giving tree when I think about my family home.  How a "thing" can become something alive, something that you love.

Although our family will be a family, wherever we land, our family home was more than just a structure.  She was a part of our family for over 40 years.  She gave us shelter from storms of nature and storms of life, she provided safety from the outside world and a safe place to have fun as we grew, she grew old with us and knew our joys, our sorrows, our dreams and hopes.  She creaked and breathed loud, as we all do with age.  But she was still strong, still loving, and still there.  She was always there.  A warm hug to come back to after every vacation, every year in school, and every year in a different town.

And the little family loved the house.......very much. And the house was happy.”
